“Planet Passionate” Print Series

At the beginning of the decade, Pipitone client Kingspan Insulated Panels introduced Planet Passionate, an ambitious 10-year sustainability program. Three years later, awareness of the program in the industry is relatively low.

To help spread the word, our team at Pipitone created a series of posters modeled after vintage Work Projects Administration (WPA) posters that inspired generations of working Americans and promoted one of our country’s most cherished natural assets — its national parks.

The “Carbon” targets poster is in print magazines this spring, as well as digital website banners.

Rebranding Starphire® Glass for Luxurious Interiors

With its unmatched clarity, Starphire Ultra-Clear® glass by Vitro Architectural Glass provides a blank canvas for exceptional design and has become a popular choice for luxurious applications. However, when Vitro approached Pipitone with the idea of relaunching the glass for interior applications, we understood their goal of raising awareness and driving increased specifications and sample orders.

Pipitone published advertising for the Starphire® glass interiors campaign in leading architectural and interior design publications as well as digital channels to maximize impact. In just 10 months, our integrated campaign resulted in more than 3.5 million total impressions across a wide range of media.

Learn more about how we did it by reading our new case study on Pipitone’s website.

Vitro Architectural Glass manufactures a range of industry-leading, energy-efficient architectural products that take sustainability to a new level, and its online Glass Education Center was the first of its kind when it was introduced in 2013. Now celebrating a decade of success, the site features more than 70 posts with videos, infographics, slide shows, and narrative articles that help architects and construction professionals learn about glass and sustainability. I’ve created and maintained content for the site since 2020, including some of my favorite articles:

Shining a “Spotlight” on Pittsburgh’s Newest Makers + Movers

My “Spotlight On” series for Made in PGH features profiles of up-and-coming businesses in the greater Pittsburgh region, with a specific focus on innovators of food and beverage or health and wellness. I introduced this series in Sept. 2021 to lift up emerging local brands and stay current on entrepreneurial trends in the region, and since Feb. 2022 I’ve written an average of one “Spotlight On” feature per month. Some of my favorite features are:

In 2018, the Office of Student UX, Technology, and Engagement at NYU introduced a proposal for rebranding NYU’s athletics department on social media. I was the lead student employee on this project, and over several months I developed a strategy that I pitched to program directors that is still in place today, including planning the program’s first media day. As a result of our social media audit, draft post proposals, and branding guidelines, @NYUAthletics has earned thousands of new followers and features a consistent, professional aesthetic that has given the athletics program much-needed legitimacy for recruiting and delivering live news and game updates.

Visualizing the 2016-2017 Season of the Metropolitan Riveters (formerly the New York Riveters)

I created this series of data visualizations for a graduate-level course titled "Data Rules: How Quantification Shapes Science, Selves, and States.”

Click here to take a closer look at how I charted several aspects of the Riveters' second season in the PHL (formerly NWHL), including their wins and losses as well as individual players' goals and assists. I've added some helpful annotations to help convey the design choices I've made, as well as how these charts can be read and interpreted by anyone from data rookies to the most passionate of fans.

I'm very grateful to Micah Blake McCurdy (@ineffectivemath) and his website HockeyViz.com for the aesthetic inspiration, as well as Mike Murphy (@DigDeepBSB) and the robust statistics webpage maintained by the PHL (formerly NWHL) for the data used in this project.
